Bei diesem Konzert erwartet Sie ein „cultural clash“ aus Südindien und dem Allgäu. Der aus dem Oberallgäu stammende Trompeter und Ausnahmemusiker Matthias Schriefl ist immer auf der Suche nach neuen musikalischen Inspirationen, die ihn bisweilen sogar nach Indien führt. Dort hat er den indischen Bansuri-Flötisten Amith Nadig im Rahmen seines Studiums der südindischen Musik in Bangalore kennengelernt. Amith Nadig gilt in seiner Heimat Südindien als Geheimtipp unter den jungen, wilden Flötisten und ist der jüngste Künstler, der jemals im „All India Radio“ die Bestbewertung „A“ bekam.
Nach einigen gemeinsamen Fusion-Konzerten in Indien, folgt nun der erste gemeinsame, langersehnte Auftritt in Deutschland.
An diesem Abend hören Sie nicht nur originale Werke aus der südindischen klassischen Tradition, sondern auch Eigenkompositionen von Nadig und Schriefl, die speziell für diesen Abend geschrieben wurden und nun uraufgeführt werden.

Matthias Schriefl (fast alle Blechblasinstrumente)
wurde 1981 geboren und wuchs im Vorland der Allgäuer Alpen auf. Dort erlernte schon früh den Blues der Berge, den Jodler. Mit 17 produzierte er seine erste CD „Die Bestie“ bei Mons Records. Von 2000 bis 2005 studierte er in Köln, Amsterdam und anderen Bergregionen. Heute lebt er in Köln, wo er die Konzertreihe Jazz-O-Rama veranstaltet, als Solist oder Leiter verschiedensten Formationen zu hören ist und von wo aus er mit seinen Bands Touren durch die gesamte Galaxis unternimmt. In seiner Freizeit trinkt Matthias Freibier im Freibad.

Amith Nadig (Bansuri),
Amith comes from a family of musicians and has been widely acclaimed as a child prodigy of Karnataka. He is the son and student of noted flautist Vidwan B.K.Anantharam. He underwent training under PadmaBhushana Sangeetha Kalanidhi Dr.R.K.Srikantan to learn the finer aspects of the Gayaki Style of flute playing for almost 2 decades.
He has been performing on stage for the past 18 years and has performed on all prestigious festivals all over India and abroad including Mysore Dasara festival, Mumbai, New Delhi, Bhopal, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Trivandrum, Calicut, Tirupathi, Guruvayoor, Mantralaya, Cochin etc and is now one of the foremost Karnatic Flautists today in India.
Amith is one of the youngest “A†graded artistes of ALL INDIA RADIO and has been featured on the most prestigious National Programme of Music at a very young age of 21 and also the South Zone hook-up concert from Doordarshan.
Recently in 2013, Amith was featured on the most prestigious music festival of India, Akashvani’s Sangeetha Sammelan as well as the National Program of Music of Doordarshan.
He is part of the talented Indo-Jazz band Mystik Vibes and has recently come out with their maiden album “The Shadow Treeâ€. Amith has toured USA and Malaysia on concert tours and regularly performs with top musicians from India and abroad.
